I dream that my sister came back home and we fight fight fight. I’m in town sitting on a bench, talking about it with my dad, when the Queen of England sits on my other sides. She thanks me for helping her the last time, and I absolutely don’t remember ever meeting her before. She needs my help now because she wants to show Hercules, the Disney cartoon, to Prince Louis and doesn’t know if it’s appropriate for his age. I assure her I used to love Hercules as a child. We speak in different languages and she compliments me on my pronunciation. She notices I’m looking dejected, she learns about my sister and nods gravely. Okay, she says, early tomorrow morning we leave from Bangkok and you’re coming with us. I say no, absolutely no, I can’t travel, I don’t even have a swimsuit. It’s out of the question. The next morning I’m on a Thai beach.

Then I dream that I’m Lady Gaga trying to infiltrate a Nazi stronghold. Hitler himself is there and he’s looking for me, but thankfully with a surgical mask on my face, no eye makeup and a fake accent he doesn’t recognize me.

I dream that I’m home celebrating Christmas with old friends, as always glad that Summer’s over. My old best friend M. teases me about crushing on cartoon characters when we were children, and how she already knew I was gay back then. I tell her I’m bi actually, even though I like women better.

Some black haired guy arrives, flirts with my friend. Everybody is amused because they know I’m gonna be jealous. I try to ignore him as he goes towards the bedrooms, then we hear screaming: I find him on one knee and my sister outraged, she threw a box of pencils at him because he proposed after meeting her for the first time. I grab him by the collar and drag him back to the living room, throw him on the floor, straddle him and start throwing punches. My technique isn’t too effective, but it feels good.

I dream that both my brother and sister are at home and we’re trying to get along. It’s September and I’m so excited about Fall and then Christmas. The trees are heavy with raspberries, and outside my window there’s a garden covered in big purple eggplants. On TV there’s a show with Katie McGrath.

I dream that I have a girlfriend and I’m really excited because it’s my very first relationship, I try my best but I neglect her without realizing it, she texts me because she’s in mortal danger, she woke up with a pile of heavy rocks balanced precariously over her head, but I’m too busy buying action figures to answer my texts. We break up and I want her back, but I don’t know what I could ever do to deserve her.

I dream that I’m taking a walk with my mom and dad, I know exactly where I want to take them but I don’t know how to get there, I have to use my phone GPS. We get to an old water mill, long broken. Keira Knightley is inside, she says her time as mill guardian is finally over and one of us will have to take her place. Dad is chosen to remain, while my mom and I get to beautiful camping grounds in a forest, with a pretty cabin selling food and drinks. I know I’ve been here in a dream once before and I’m so happy to have found this place again.

After a week my dad joins us, except now he’s a young man with brown hair and glasses, he’s angry at his brother for some reason.

I dream that it’s the last week of school and I’m doing an internship in a really big building, almost a skyscraper. I don’t really like the job, it’s a bit too corporate and heartless, but my cousin is there of course and she’s not letting me go home until I clean my room; my own bed is indeed on the ground floor.

That night I play a videogame set in the same building, I find a secret room full of pizzas but my HP bar is full and I don’t have much use for them. The morning after I’m determined to find the same room in the real building, but I find a long line of sick people waiting outside the main doors. I’m not wearing a mask so I cover my face with both hands and beg to be let inside because I’m an employee. The ground floor has turned into a hospital and I can’t find my room anymore.

I dream that I’m watching a new OITNB series about Kimiko Glenn (except she was called Kyoko). Then I dream I’m watching a heist movie about immigrant women. Then I’m looking for a job and it’s so frustrating.

Weird Things Happening In A Calming Way.

I dream that I go into the parking lot to take pictures of a tree and leaves playing in the wind. An old neighbor is looking at my camera, impressed. He shows me his own camera, a vintage beauty. He’s taking pictures of his grandchildren, two high school girls, and his wife has set up a camping table and is developing the film right away, under direct sunlight; that doesn’t seem weird to me in the dream. The girls are obsessed with Iranian culture and also Texas cowboys.

I go back home and find my UPS unit soaking in shallow water inside my shower. I put it to dry in the sun. Surely it’s gonna be fine.

19th Century Gothic Vibe

I dream that I’m going to a doctor visit inside a dark medieval castle, I wait and wait and eventually realize the place is cursed and I won’t be able to leave without turning into a skeleton. The resident ghost greets me, he’s too self conscious to show he’s actually a balding man with a mustache, so he wears a black robe, black veil and liliac cateye sunglasses. I’m now a young man and I’m worried that my girlfriend is coming to look for me, I write her a message and toss it at her through a hole in the heavy wooden doorway. She ignores it and enters the castle. The mustached ghost says that we look like we were made for each other.

I Wish They Still Sold Film In Supermarkets

I dream that I’m trying to sneak into a store to quietly return a children’s book I stole. I notice they have Kodak film on sale, I recognize the little yellow boxes immediately. I need to ask the store owner how much it costs, he explains it’s expired film he found in a box and he’s selling it for 12 bucks a piece. I assure him it’s a great price.
