Blood And Dough

I’m in my parking lot, from the fence I can see the nearby public park. There is a baby fox half hidden in the grass, looking at me with big eyes. I stop to take a picture of it, and I see two teens threatening a child with a metal baseball bat. One of them sees the baby fox and tries to pick it up, the mother (that happens to be a full grown, angry tiger) jumps on them; I hear blood-chilling screams and I see limbs being teared off, I’m so terrified that I run home.

I make sure that my cat is safe, then I go see my neighbor. The little boy from the park is there, the back of his head is missing and my neighbor is carefully bandaging it. I ask if he’s gonna be okay, she says,

“No, he’s gonna die tomorrow, but at least he’s not gonna expect it.”

She then tells me to call the police and explain what happen, I take my phone but someone stops my hand: he’s one of the teens, he has a blond mullet and one arm is missing. He tells me he’s a time traveler on a mission, I need to trust him and not tell anyone about his secret.

I’m filming a reality show with my dad. Our team is behind, we need to complete a recipe before we can be moved to the next location, a beautiful European beach city. I’m supposed to make rice pancakes, but there is cat identical to mine chilling in my bowl! I shoo him off, then painstakingly clean all the cat hair from the white dough. I’m all alone because dad is off driving my aunt home, but finally I make my pancakes.

I’m took not to the beach, but to a gray winter city. I’m not wearing a mask and feeling guilty about it, the production team gives me a dark brown one made of fabric. I get lost and end up in a pharmacy, the girl at the counter is pretty and I start flirting. I say I need to make a deposit and get from my bag an envelope filled to the brim with money. The girl’s eyes get enormous.

This Can Only Mean I Want Cuddles

(I’m trying so hard to remember because it’s all fuzzy today.) I got two puppies. I want to carry them to a sunny spot in the hallway to take better pictures of them. My cat has one of the puppies and she’s rocking it like it’s a human child.

Then… I’m in a park? A school trip maybe. There is a giant Ferris wheel and I set it on fire with my magic powers. Everyone is impressed.

Dreary Neverland

(I forgot to post my notes yesterday but here’s April 25th entry)

I’m watching Steven Universe, now it’s a Disney Peter Pan sequel, it has beautiful songs. Peter has a new origin story, he was a Greek child who drowned thousands of years ago, and the Powers that Be want to drown every lost boy on the island to make them go home.

The oldest boy, who’s a world-hardened rebel, locks himself up in a shed. Emma Pillsbury is also there, she tries to talk him out if it, but he grabs a rusty saw and cuts off his fingers, one by one. Then his whole hand, then the other. I have to look away. Ms. Pillsbury grabs Fairy Grandmother’s wand and magics the two of them out.

The boy without hands learns that he’s been on Neverland for centuries and his family is gone by now. He is transported back to London, to a dreary little funeral in a dark day. Only a little girl notices him standing between the tombstones. He can see all the ghosts and cuddles with them.

I’m on the balcony and I notice my cat inside another building. I call her and she jumps out of a window, bounces on the ground like a rubber ball and with a supernatural jump lands in my arms.

I run to my mother to tell her, she’s not impressed. We go out, I walk in the middle of the road because I’m afraid of dogs barking from behind their gates. We reach a street market that only sells food because everything else is forbidden during lockdown, I see an old lady that from behind looks exactly like my late Grandma G.: I touch her shoulder, she turns around and she has a big nose and pointy yellow teeth.

International Travel

I’m in Venice with my cousin and we come across Tessa Thompson. I recognize her immediately but I don’t want to look like a crazy fan, so I just yell from across the street, “You were incredibile in the last Westworld episode!!” She smiles and signals to get closer, then she rummages through her car trunk (a car in Venice, yeah, I know) and gives us both caps with the American flag and her autograph on post-its.

Somehow from Venice we arrive at my building, my estranged cousin S. is in the parking lot looking at stray cats, she remembers all the cats’ names even though she hasn’t been at my place since childhood. I go up to my apartment and my dad is on the couch watching soccer, Italy VS France. I tell him it’s a replay, there are too many people on those bleachers and we are supposed to be social distancing, remember? He’s disappointed.

I fly to visit my penpal C., and my sister is with me this time; we meet all her parents and grandparents, she somehow seems to have too many. It’s already late at night and we’re trying to make as little noise as we can, my sister heads the bathroom and I whisper to hurry up, because it’s already 4 and everybody needs to go. I sit next to C. and we hold hands and watch the stars; an hour passes and we realize my sister is still in the bathroom, we go check and she’s fallen asleep. I gently pick her up and carry her to the bed.

Mysterious Pastries and Paper Hells

We have a new kitten in the house, she’s honey-colored and real cute, I try to take pictures but my little sister is always in the way. I’m the middle one of three young sisters with long brown curls.

My old priest comes by to talk us into coming back to church, I’m not home but my two sisters are in their room, already tucked in bed. The older one, who’s about sixteen, asks him for takeaway pizza money, the house has big windows and a mother passing by is scandalized to see the priest bending over a bed, giving money to a half-naked teen. The older sister blackmails the priest into giving her more money because, she threatens him, she took pictures and she’ll release them! The parents come home and she quickly hides a photo album.

Meanwhile I’m in town, it’s a gray, rainy day and a guy named Peace texts me: he wants to meet at a certain pastry store. His coworker demands to know why, she’s a blonde woman with an 80s perm walking next to me. I google the name and find out it was some sort of… fairy tale themed place? My great aunt D., who’s also there, reveals that the store burned down months ago, maybe the guy would like to go to (she points) that pink donuts stand instead?

The truth is, the pastry store has reopened in a new, secret location that only great aunt D. knows, there is a hidden clue embroided with a red thread in her white shirt sleeve. She refuses to show us the sleeve, and later when she’s filming a Youtube video she CGIs it out, just to spite us. Her pettiness doesn’t work because I find the store on my own and I follow her to the nearby sea town just to rub it in her face.

There are too many people around, a crowd cheering on a parade. I try to get away but people surround me, a girl laughs in my face and I yell to keep her germs away. I can’t find my way home.

Now I’m a little boy, and I’m lost, my parents and two sisters have been searching me for years. I walk and walk until I can see the coastline, there are lions on the beach. Eventually I arrive in some sort of carnival town where everything is made of colorful papier-mâché. My family find me as I walk on a stage that is literal hell: there are paper flames and a paper Devil, blond with piercing blue eyes. He recognizes my older sister, the one who took pictures of the priest and is now a prostitute, and tells her she’s doomed.

I offer myself in exchange for her soul. The Devil lifts me by the armpits, looks into my big, childish eyes and can’t find a trace of sin in me. We go back in time and my sister is a pure young girl again, riding her bike with a purple helmet and a big smile.

Mountain Outing

I’m with friends and family at our mountain house, we are all sitting around a wooden table. One of the guests is Sharon from FBE, I’m telling her all about my neighbor S. and how he’s like a brother to me. He’s also here with my siblings and they’re all cuddling with kittens, I try to take pictures but my phone layout is all wrong and I don’t know how to fix it.

We see a group of American tourists walking in our vegetable garden and plucking up our food like it’s a quirky, fun thing to do, I hang out from the second floor window and yell but they don’t hear me. I run downstairs and to the garden, I tell them I took pictures of them (a lie, since my phone is messed up). A woman says she’s gonna sue me for that, I say that I’m gonna sue them first for stealing!

Another of our guests is Alex Danvers, she’s my girlfriend but it’s a secret. I feel quite self-conscious comparing myself to her, she’s so gorgeous and I’m chubby, plus my hair has gotten so long since the lockdown started. She assures me I’m beautiful no matter what, then as a romantic gift she transfers a Pokémon to my phone, I don’t know how she managed it since I can’t seem to work my phone at all. I promise her I’ll visit as soon as the travel ban is lifted.

It’s evening and time for our guests to go home, I offer to accompany them. We walk down the mountain path, Alex and I a few steps behind, holding hands and hoping nobody will notice. About halfway to the village we stop at a tiny airport. My guests are going to take a small tourist aircraft, they stand on the landing strip and I can see under the floodlights dozens and dozens of people sick with Covid-19, all lying on stretchers and waiting for their turn to get on the plane.

I Wish That Were Me

I’m part of the Critical Role fam, and actually I’m pretty sure I’m Laura Bailey. We are some sort of Scooby Doo gang, we are investigating a big house where a man is doing illegal cloning experiments.

There are heavily armed guards in front of the house, while Marisha distracts them Taliesin and I sneak in the back. We find a room with several cloned animals, including my own cat: they are identical down to the same pink collar, my cat is also there somehow, looking at her double all puzzled. There’s also a leopard cub.

Next we find a huge laboratory and walk along pods and pods of cloned people and animals. The villain arrives and we have to run away. I get mad a Marisha for not warning us, and we all change clothes to hide from the man.

Guess What I’m Anxious About Today

I walk to the store, but once inside I see it’s a mix between it and my old job at the vet clinic. There is a young man at the counter, I buy something and he gives me change from the old cash register I’ve used so many times. I’m a bit annoyed seeing that he doesn’t use gloves to handle the money.

I try to be nice to him anyway, I ask where my old buddy the cat is and he says I can go in the back to look for her. I see a ramp of stairs with a long-haired tabby sitting on it, I call her name (I can’t remember it but it started with an “S”) and she jumps in my arms. Then I see my old boss, the vet’s wife, coming out from a door and I don’t want to be caught in here again when I should be quarantined, so I leave in a hurry.

I’m walking back home and it’s a beautiful spring day, the sky is a perfect blue. I realize with horror there are too many people in town, why is nobody respecting the lockdown?! I come across a whole wedding gathering, people are crowding around the groom and wife and clapping and taking pictures. I have to walk between them and I hold my breath, hoping and praying I won’t be infected.

The Mayor walks past me with the police, I wish they’re gonna arrest everybody. I go home and decide to self-quarantine in my room for the next two weeks, because I really want my dad to be safe.

Some Food Choices

I’m in my living room with my sister, and it seems like we have more pets than previously accounted for. I feel guilty because I’ve always poured all my love into my IRL cat and ignored all these other animals! I’m a monster.

There’s a poodle, its white curly fur all dirty like we never bathed him. There’s another cat, a tabby, and an orange robot monkey. The tabby brings a bowl of food to the monkey, who makes a disgusted face. I say pointedly,

Be kind!

The monkey obeys me and starts eating, but I realize there’s mostly hay and rocks in the bowl and take it away. My mother is sitting on the couch, she asks if she can have it. I say no, it’s dirty and the animals ate in it. She says it doesn’t matter, she can have her floss directly from the box.

I ask her if she’s really eating floss, she says,

Yes, the minty one. Can you bring it? It’s on my nightstand.

Work Day

I’m late for work, and I don’t even have my coat because I came home for lunch wearing my employee jacket. As I rush out in the cold my sister is sitting in front of the TV watching Sailor Moon.

In town I come across two old ladies, they are hanging outside an ice cream parlor and talking about phones. I stop and invite them to visit my store. They ask me if I’ve already done my homework. I say,

Ma’am, I’m 33.

The store looks exactly like my home, but there are a bunch of desks in the living room, with girls sitting at them working. Boss Lady calls to announce she’s running a fever and will have to stay at home.

I go to my room, where my cat is sleeping. Just then Boss Lady arrives even though she said she wouldn’t, and she looks pale and sick, with bags under her eyes. A coworker whispers to me that she looks horrible, B.L. turns around angrily and asks what we are talking about. I try to look innocent and say we’re just really worried about her. I go back to my job which is apparently cooking, and we are using Bluetooth plates to share recipes.

Now I’m watching (or living?) a movie about an Indian woman flying to Italy to visit her children and grandchildren. Her plane crashes, killing her husband. She is confined in an embassy, where she has a series of wacky hijinks with ladies of all nationalities.

The woman wants to reach her family in northern Italy, but a massive flood is stopping her. Meanwhile her family is watching the flood on the news: the pets recognize their owners’ grandmother on TV and leave on a crazy adventure to try and rescue her.
