I dream that I find my brother’s secret Instagram, there are pictures of an old surly lady with long gray hair, who is apparently our grandmother! Where did she come from? I ask my mom and she doesn’t know a thing, she things the old lady is my dad’s lover, she’s gleeful about it.

Weird Things Happening In A Calming Way.
I dream that I go into the parking lot to take pictures of a tree and leaves playing in the wind. An old neighbor is looking at my camera, impressed. He shows me his own camera, a vintage beauty. He’s taking pictures of his grandchildren, two high school girls, and his wife has set up a camping table and is developing the film right away, under direct sunlight; that doesn’t seem weird to me in the dream. The girls are obsessed with Iranian culture and also Texas cowboys.
I go back home and find my UPS unit soaking in shallow water inside my shower. I put it to dry in the sun. Surely it’s gonna be fine.
In Which I’m Stingy
I dream that I’m walking in my neighborhood, an old man stops me and asks me to return his Peanuts comics. I tell him honestly that I don’t remember him ever lending me any comics, when was it? 14 years ago, he says. His mom tells him to stop bothering me; she’s much younger than him, but I don’t find it strange at all. I take out my journal and say I’ll give something else in return, a sticker sheet, maybe? I regret suggesting it right away because all my stickers are precious to me. What about trading cards? I grab a deck, does the old man likes Lord of the Rings? No, he doesn’t. What about… I look through my cards frantically. What about Clint Eastwood? Yes, he does like him!
I give him two Clint Eastwood trading cards.
Fun Times.
I dream that my brother wants to go to Kpop idol college (HILARIOUS). I dream once again about needing to get my high school diploma (I GOT IT TWO DECADES AGO GIVE IT A REST BRAIN!!). And I dream about an old man watching me poop (TYPICAL).
I Do Feel Guilty Now Because I Didn’t Feel Guilty There.
I dream that I come across the old neighbor lady who always takes shortcuts through other people’s courtyards and parking lots. A man asks her what she’s doing, she mutters something about being lost. I exchange a glance with the man and roll my eyes, to let him know she’s full of s***. As I walk away, the man yells at the old lady to go back to her country (!!). I figure, maybe she’s got senile by now and was really lost? Whatever. None of my business.
Snippets! Or Maybe One Long, Disjointed Dream
I’m watching Smallville with my neighbor. He tells me he’s in 7th grade.
My dad goes to the hospital. Nobody can figure out whats wrong with him because they’re so overwhelmed and understaffed.
I find my brother installing Sims mods on my computer. “How the hell did you get my password?!” I demand. “I used Laura’s account” he says. Who the hell is Laura?
I sneak into a building to try and steal a key. An old lady notices me, I pretend I live there and just lost mine. She helps me search until I pretend to give up. I leave and she leaves too, we both walk in the same direction which is embarrassing, so I start running.
I’m playing Papers, Please but now it’s an elaborate Japanese RPG, there’s a king and queen and generals I can romance. I’m trying to operate a cannon and struggling with the controller when I wake up.
Adopt Me!
I dream that I’m walking home from the mall with my camera, taking pictures of dogs. A couple stops their car, they’re both middle aged and very handsome. They chat with me for a while, give me the local wifi password and some explosive, because their hobby is blowing things up, apparently? I see the husband picking up his dog’s poop, which I find very responsible too.
I Wanna Go Hiking And I Can’t
I dream that I’m going to the mountains to see snow, but there is no snow. Instead, a beach of sand that looks like garden dirt and rough, deep lake water. People are sitting under umbrellas, children are playing and swimming, a journalist is interviewing an old man: he says he likes the sea but this is a good alternative. His son and daughter-in-law laugh as they say they threatened the owner to get a spot on this beach, it was worth it to see Dad happy. This angers me and I yell at them. A storm comes.

Then I dream that a friend from the other side of the world sent me an envelope full of stickers. As I go through them my dad asks if he can have some and tries to grab one, I say hold on, lemme check them first. He’s disappointed. I find in the envelope a bottle opener, then more and more stuff. I prepare a plastic bag with all the stuff, cleaning supplies I share between my mom and grandma, (Gran is enthusiastic, mom suspicious about the foreign labels,) DIY items that end up with a neighbor. Nothing for dad, he’s disappointed.
Another One I Have No Memory Of So I’ll Just Paste My Notes
I dream that I’m playing a complicated quest game that has real consequences with my siblings. We rummage through a box of old photos to find a code that will open an obelisk. We have to compete on a cooking contest. An old man appears from nowhere and asks for a cup of tea. In the end I have a teary heart-to-heart with my sister; I still wouldn’t let her back to my room though.
Can I Have A Lucid Dream Every Night Please
I dream that I’m trying to take pictures of a friend standing in front of a window. I realize that this is too big to be my window, and the city outside is too perfect, the old buildings bathed in twilight. This must be a dream.
I go out to explore this city that looks like mine but isn’t. I wonder if I can fly, but it seems like I need to follow the rules and map routes. My friend brings me to a small park, I can feel the grass blades dancing against my leg in the night breeze. I’m amazed at how detailed a feeling my subconscious can evoke, I know it’s not real but it feels real.
I’m now near my house, people are walking in bathing suits. I think that’s an excellent idea, and I conjure my favorite actress wearing a bikini, just because it’s a pretty sight to look at.
I arrive at some sort of terrace above the sea where people are sitting around tables, eating and chatting. There are rocky formations below and above, I start to climb. It’s amazing how easy rock climbing is when you know you are dreaming and there are no stakes. A rock falls down, I shout at the people above and they sidestep it, completely nonplussed. I lose my grip and feel no panic at all, just conjure a rope and hoist myself up.
The rocky climb turns into a rocky alley going up and up, flanked by quaint little houses. Two old women are walking along the alley arm in arm, I walk and chat with them for a while. They eventually go inside a house, and one of them says to me,
See you, ladybug!
My brain is amazing, I think. How can it come up with such brilliant dialogue?!
