I dream that I bring a big sack of food to a little dark house. There is my Gran inside, along with a young woman and her little brother. They are very excited to see me and the sack, but I tell them not to get their hopes up, because there’s very little in it this time. We open it and there’s only bags of chips, and at the bottom we find a chopped onion. This will be useful, Gran says, tears of gratitude in her eyes.

Riker Does Sound Like A Good Cook
I dream that my Gran is hospitalized in a clinic somewhere in a far away city, I move in a building close by so I won’t leave her alone, but I can never visit her and can only call her at night. My siblings arrive and we have a huge fight because they think I’m awful. I ask why, they say it’s because I don’t care about Gran. Of course I care, I say, I moved all the way here! No you didn’t, they say, you just dreamed about doing it. And indeed we are back home.
We sit down to have dinner and someone knocks at the door. It’s Johnathan Frakes, who’s our neighbor. He’s wearing an apron and oven mittens and carrying some sort of casserole he made for us. I go look in our childhood album for photos of him and Marina Sirtis and give them to him as thanks.
I Have All These Details That Make Zero Sense When Put Together
I dream that my siblings are going to spend the night at a big villa belonging to Gran (I’m sure I dreamed about that place some other time?) while Gran spends the night in my room. She’s really tired, so I bring her a glass of water and some sort of tomato pie. Then I steal my brother’s comics. I have a bunch of kittens, and one of them is actually a child contended between two Star Trek crews; they are tiny crews that live on the two levels of a toy starship.
A Classic
I dream that I have to go meet my Gran early in the morning −and I actually did!−
It’s a disaster. I’m trying to get dressed and two hours have passed without me noticing. I run out and then realize I forgot my mask. I eventually wake up in a huff, and if I knew that I would get a do-over in real life.
I Wanna Go Hiking And I Can’t
I dream that I’m going to the mountains to see snow, but there is no snow. Instead, a beach of sand that looks like garden dirt and rough, deep lake water. People are sitting under umbrellas, children are playing and swimming, a journalist is interviewing an old man: he says he likes the sea but this is a good alternative. His son and daughter-in-law laugh as they say they threatened the owner to get a spot on this beach, it was worth it to see Dad happy. This angers me and I yell at them. A storm comes.

Then I dream that a friend from the other side of the world sent me an envelope full of stickers. As I go through them my dad asks if he can have some and tries to grab one, I say hold on, lemme check them first. He’s disappointed. I find in the envelope a bottle opener, then more and more stuff. I prepare a plastic bag with all the stuff, cleaning supplies I share between my mom and grandma, (Gran is enthusiastic, mom suspicious about the foreign labels,) DIY items that end up with a neighbor. Nothing for dad, he’s disappointed.
The Year’s Over And Nothing Of Interest Was Gained
I dream that I’m staying at Gran’s with my brother and cousin (who is vampire but that has nothing to do with the story). Gran goes for a walk and I want to go with her but I’m still in my pajamas. When I’m dressed up I instinctively board a train. I don’t have a ticket and I’m afraid I’ll be found out so I get off at the next station just a few minutes later. I find Gran at the station, I can’t believe she walked this far; she’s trying to board with a fake ticket so I drag her away. We go through a little market, I notice no one’s wearing a mask: they all think they are safe. My cousin is crossing the street nearby without looking where she’s going, a car runs her over, she’s so upset she throws herself at their window just to scare them. She’s immortal after all. I try to book a train ticket for my brother and I to go back home. I can’t seem to be able to type anymore.
That Mask Dream Keeps Happening
I dream that I’m in a car and my mom is driving, she’s not wearing a seat belt and keeps going to the backseat at every traffic light, I’m very uncomfortable. We stop at an old lady’s house, she’s a Sim and her name’s Sylvia. She’s also a trans lesbian. I know all of this because I watched the Sims trailer.
We get to the market where my two grandmas (including the one that now’s dead) are waiting for us. It starts raining so I cannot walk to the stationary store like I hoped to. Nobody is wearing a mask, they don’t care anymore.
Getting Lost In My Own City Is Perfectly On Brand
I dream that I’m going home from school with two friends. They’re not familiar with my town, I lead them through alleys and courtyards on a special secret route. We end up at our mountain house, where Gran is apparently living with her boyfriend. I was planning to climb the gutter, hop on the next rooftop and go on from there, but there’s too many people watching from their windows, and I grow too self-conscious.
Maybe we can just take the bus to town, I say. Or a train, one of my friends suggests. I tell her no train stops at this village. We walk around a little, trying to figure out what to do, we take a turn and we’re in town again; if I only knew it was this simple!
Confident I can find my way now, I lead my friends down another alley, but it’s a dead end. There’s a house with a big garden and a few dogs barking. Their owner is collecting the mail, I ask for directions and she invites us all in, but she scoffs at our problems. Her daughter arrives, finally points us in the right direction. She’s Scarlett Johansson.
I Have No Memory Of This Dream
I dream that I’m walking to the doctor with my dad. I realize I forgot my mask at home, but this is the chance to use the spare one I always carry in my bag. People around me are not bothering with a mask at all. My cousin is trying to steal my magazine pages to use for karate practice (that’s what my notes say, I don’t know!). Gran is also there, I’m mad at her because she won’t stay put at home.
I Apparently Really Like To Visit Hell From Time To Time
I dream that I’m going to visit my Gran, and that’s already making me uncomfortable because we should be isolating from the pandemic. I run into an old schoolmate’s mom, she’s not wearing a mask, a can only stand in horror as she grabs me and kisses both my cheeks in greeting. How could you! I yell. She doesn’t seem to understand what she did wrong.
At Gran’s place, I’m watching a TV show, or maybe playing a video game, or possibly living in it? It’s about a little girl who can speak with ghosts, she’s always haunted by the spectral figures of her dead parents. She’s currently sitting in her classroom, her teacher is John Mulaney. Then she goes home skating, she runs into a murderer running away from the police. Why didn’t you call us? The police demand. She doesn’t know how to explain that, due to her psychic powers, cell phones don’t work around her.
She arrives at Gran’s place, where we find dozens and dozens of single shoes and slippers. I try to find a logical explanation for it, but we all know ghosts are dumping them. The little girl avoids mirrors because she can always see reflected in them someone who just died and is being sent to hell. It’s like a white, crumbly room that goes into the unknown. We decide to explore hell as well, we take an elevator and arrive at the white room. We step inside.
