There Was So Much Family Drama Around That Shirt That I Can’t Possibly Convey?

I dream that my sister is teaching Gran about art history with very poor results. Why is everyone is this family so DUMB?! She cries. I’m sitting at their table making Gran tennis shoes from scratch; I use a yellow t-shirt that belonged to my uncle, he’s not happy about it and demands I make another, identical, one. I panic because I only vaguely remember what the t-shirt looked like, there was a face with bags under their eyes. I draw a tired yellow emoji in MS paint and print it on a fresh shirt.

I Was So Smug Right There In The End

I dream that I’m lured on a ship with a group of friends with the promise of ice cream. The ship is rather big and looks like it’s made of metal containers welded together. It can travel on road and also jump over hills, which we do.

My friends tell me they need to hide, so I suggest my uncle’s mountain house. We’re already nearby so we get off the ship and start to climb, arrive in the middle of the night. I say everybody be quiet because he’s sleeping. We hear the sound of a toilet flushing and my uncle appears on the door, he says we woke him up anyway and let us in. My friends are hungry so he says they can eat anything from his vegetable garden.

At this point I see my friends as if through an anime opening, and I realize we are indeed in a cartoon episode. I read online that fans are debating about the setting and I’m fuming because, of course it’s set in my town! Didn’t they see the buildings, the architecture? I go back and rewatch the flight of the container ship, yes, see there, how it jumps over a castle? That is my town’s castle, no doubt.

I’m looking forward to share my knowledge to the rest of the interenet, when my alarm rings, leaving me disappointed.

Babies and Portals and Kittens

It’s dark and stormy, outside my window I can see a tomato tree: not just a plant, it’s a big palm tree ripe with red tomatoes and shaking in the rain.

Everyone is my home is wearing a t-shirt even though it’s March, and I’m ranting about climate change. Remember when we used to have winters? Good times. My grandma is sitting on the couch caressing her belly. She’s pregnant, but she explains the baby belongs to a cousin and she just borrowed it for a while. Indeed a few minutes later her belly disappears and my uncle E. walks in the room to announce the baby is born: they named him Christian.

Meanwhile, my dad is doing some charity work for people with Down syndrome. A portal opens inside the organization’s building, and yes, it’s Doctor Who again. She walks in with her squad and leads everyone into the portal and across a long path filled with blue crystals and dangerous gases. After a long walk they emerge on the other side and the doctor collapses. Her companion, Yaz, kneels next to her and gets the psychic paper from her coat. It’s a leather wallet that, once opened, reveals a long string of photos depicting all of the Doctor’s past companions. Yaz gets mighty jealous.

Back home, I’m looking for my dogs* and cats. I spot a few black kittens playing on the floor, but where is my very own grown up cat? She’s hiding under the table! I take her out and the moment she comes in contact with the kittens, she merges with them. They fit together like pieces of a puzzle and the result is a single, slightly bigger black cat.

*I don’t have dogs, these were actually two dachshunds that belong to my boss IRL
